Delivering evidence-based care to children and families in the comfort of their homes.
Through our Malaysian Children's Hospices (MCHs), we provide paediatric palliative care to children and their families. Our team delivers care in the comfort of the child's home while supporting the physical, emotional, and practical needs of the whole family.
Our services include doctor and nurse home visits, symptom management, home-based physiotherapy, play therapy, volunteer home visits for joyful activities and memory-making, medical equipment loan services, temporary relief for caregivers and caregiver education. Together, we help children and their families make the most of every moment, knowing they are supported throughout their journey.
We also develop evidence-based models of care and advocate for clinical guidelines to strengthen paediatric palliative care across Malaysia.
Advocacy
Raising awareness and expanding access to paediatric palliative care
MAPPAC is committed to increasing awareness and understanding of paediatric palliative care in Malaysia. We also want more people to know that MAPPAC is here to help. Greater awareness leads to earlier access to care and better support for families.
We share our message through information booths, public talks and seminars, fundraising and other community events, collaboration with companies on their Corporate Social Responsibility projects, national conferences, and radio and television interviews.
Education & Training
Building knowledge and empowering care
MAPPAC equips healthcare professionals, volunteers and caregivers with the knowledge and skills to provide quality paediatric palliative care.
Our programmes include the National Training Provider Programme (NTP), organised in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, the National Conference of Children’s Palliative Care Malaysia (NCCPCM), workshops for medical students, volunteer training to support home-based clinical care, and practical guidance for families to help them confidently care for their children at home.
Research & Audit
Advancing knowledge and improving care
MAPPAC promotes research, clinical audits, and evidence-based practice to improve the quality of paediatric palliative care. Through continuous evaluation, we strive to deliver the best possible care for children and their families.
We also develop educational resources, including the MAPPAC Care Giver Handbook, and share knowledge with healthcare professionals to strengthen paediatric palliative care across Malaysia.
